Art Model Funnies

So here in the Big Apple, the Bryant Park fountain is frozen solid. And 200 miles from us, winter-weary Bostonians are jumping out of their windows into the snowbanks below and posting their antics on social media. This winter is determined to drive us to lunacy, and it’s succeeding. I’ve had enough. Can we fast-forward the calendar to May 1st please?

Some art-themed cartoons to warm our frostbitten heads:

Thanks Claudia. You brightened my day! Lynn

I’d jump out of the window into the snowbank, but that wouldn’t be much of a jump. Maybe a foot or two. Any more snow and we’ll be jumping off the snowbanks into the windows.
I don’t get it. I mean, all we did was deflate a few crummy footballs 🙂

(But I did like the cartoons — thanks!)

      Bill,

Ha, that’s it! This brutal winter is Boston’s karmic fate for DeflateGate. Hey that rhymes 😉

Thanks for commenting, and careful with the snow-jumping!

I love the Rodin cartoon! It made me wonder: do you know anything about the models who posed for “The Kiss”? Were they a couple or did Rodin hire two strangers to get friendly in his studio?

      Dave,

I think you’ve given me a Museworthy assignment, one that I’m happy to undertake. I’ve never known who the life models were for The Kiss. I do know that they are representing the characters Paolo and Francesca from Dante’s “Divine Comedy”. I’ll see what I can find out.

      Thanks for your comments!

Brrr! Hope things will thaw out and warm up for you all soon!

Thanks Jennifer! Today was a warm day, and by “warm” I mean 42 degrees. Not exactly spring weather but at least it caused some of the ice and snow to melt.

Hope your winter hasn’t been too rough over in England.
      Great to hear from you!

      Claudia
