Yesterday I was one of the many people looking at the YouTube video of this performance. So many people stumble their way through that piece — she owned it.
I was hoping you’d post something like this — thanks.

Bill,
Yes, she absolutely killed it. Gives you chills. What a voice, what a talent.
So glad you liked the post. I wanted to keep it simple. Thanks for your comments.

what a great loss, I blame drugs for her death given her history of substance abuse other than that she was one of the great singers of that generation she was an influence of Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, Ashanti,
Celine Dion, Beyonce , Jennifer Hudson to name a few. Rest in Peace to her and condolences to her young daughter.

Nicely stated, derek. I, too, have been thinking about Whitney’s daughter. What a tragic, painful loss for that young lady.
Thanks for your comments.

Great choice for a tribute, Claudia. I think her voice can be appreciated more without the usual bubble-gum music accompaniment.

Andrew,
Thanks so much for posting this. It’s been circulating around the Internet and I’ve listened to it several times. The isolated vocal track showcases Whitney’s skill and technique brilliantly. Also a great reminder that her voice, back then in her prime, was so crystal clear, and light-as-a-feather even though it was incredibly strong and powerful.
